Suite et fin (pour aujourd'hui) de la série sur Peabo Bryson avec son album en duo avec Nathalie Cole, publié chez Capitol en 1979.
Comme pratiquement tous les albums de la disco de Peabo de la période, y figure un petit chef d’œuvre, en l’occurrence une reprise magistrale du classique de Bobby Caldwell, "What You Won't Do For Love", à mon sens supérieure à la version originale, en raison d'arrangements de violons / cuivres à donner des frissons et d'une authentique alchimie entre les deux chanteurs.
Si vous ça ne vous fait rien, le diagnostic est sérieux et je vous conseille de vous orienter rapidement vers la discographie d'Anthrax ou des Suicidal Tendencies
Contrairement à ses albums solos, Peabo ne compose ici aucun titre, l'album étant partagé entre compositions de Nathalie Cole et reprises. La production est partagée entre le duo Bryson/Pate, et Mark Davis/Marvin Yancy (à l'époque le mari de Nathalie Cole).
Évidemment, l'ensemble est très fleur bleue, à la limite de donner des caries, en dépit d'un casting copieux : Keni Burke, Michael Wycoff, James Gadson, Phil Upchurch... On retiendra toutefois la ballade "Love Will Find You", au dessus du lot.
