Enorme album, où j'ai puisé mon pseudo dans un couplet de "The Institute"

C'est surement le disque le plus Funky de Johnny Guitar Watson.

C'est aussi mon avis.

L'exemple parfait du disque excellent ET pas cher.

Je dis 'OUI', un disque qui tourne régulièrement à la maison...

Mon disque préféré de JGW sans hésitation. Master Funk (le morceau) est juste monumental

Je découvre ce soir une nouvelle réédition CD 2013 par Cherry Red Records de cet opus de Johnny "Guitar" Watson .

Par contre quelle est la qualité du 2ème album Extra Disco Perception ?

De mémoire il y a une bombe ou deux sur le second, qui est moins bon que le premier. Mais ce CD vaut la peine !

Bernd Lichters, que j 'ai découvert grâce au topic de Bluesy sur Smash (bluesy @ Smash - S/T ) , nous donne quelques informations sur celui qui fut un de ses amis, le grand Johnny "Guitar" Watson

My buddy Johnny Guitar Watson and me, two funky brothers. (smile) Why I was mixing down 'Pall Mall Groove' at Paramound Recording Studio in February of 1977 Johnny was recording 'A Real Mother For Ya' in the next room! I think I was one of the closest friends of him, his mom Wilma was my mom in LA as well and I was there at his funeral where is laying at the Mausoleum in Glandale, CA together with Marvin Gaye and Michael Jackson. Rest In Peace Brother!
PS : I got a lot of stories with Johnny and me. I am also on his A&M album That's What Time It Is.

Puisque Bernd fut aussi présent lors de l' enregistrement de cet album "Master Funk".

Il a de l'info le Monsieur !

Un album que j'ai rentré y a pas si longtemps, un vrai plaisir d'ailleurs. Vous n'avez pas mis le son "Lady Voodoo" qui pour moi, vu le prix (quasi donné), justifie l'achat immédiat à lui seul, même si, bien sûr, on rajoute les petits bijoux déjà cités... Un must have !
