Edna Wright était la sœur de Darlene Love, épouse de Greg Perry et mère de Melodye Perry.

Au début de sa carrière, Edna Wright a été choriste pour The Righteous Brothers et Ray Charles.

Sous le pseudonyme de Sandy Wynns, elle a enregistré un single en 1964 : "The Touch of Venus" / "A Lover's Quarrel".

En 1969, Edna Wright a formé Honey Cone, la formation comprenait également Carolyn Willis et Shelly Clark.
